Not hot chocolate.Not warming up next to the fire pit.. It’s all those amazing Winter scenery pictures that keep popping up in Pinterest.

This is one stunning season.The only problem is that it’s cold.I thought I’d better get brave one day and pop outside to show you all the real beauty that surrounds us here everyday.

Just to contribute to the pool of pretty pictures floating around out there and do my fair share..I have to tell you that I only lasted about 5 minutes before my eyes were watering and my fingers were numb and I had to run back inside to the warmth of my blankie and my nice laptop.. For a moment though, I was out there in the blowing snow and not just admiring it from the window..

I brought the popcorn strings from the Christmas tree out for the birds.. And then I ran right back inside!.

Do you have a favorite thing about Winter this year?.I knew I wanted a lantern style in this room, but I hadn’t considered this more modern type until one of my mother-in-laws bought it for her house, but then discovered it was too big.

We happily took it off her hands and bought her a replacement that we all think is just perfect for her space.. Just to clarify, I have two mother-in-laws, not two husbands.I love how the new lantern freshens up the space and adds that extra shiny *ping!

* that this house needs so much of right now.. Well, the lantern is pretty but the photos are not.Let’s look at some cute kids now instead, shall we?.
